Strategic Planning
Committee dinner meeting with the Board of Trustees
Items discussed:
- Is a
new space needed for the Learning Center or is it renovation of an area
that is needed?
- It was
requested that some designs from other colleges be given to the Board for
them to better understand what is needed for a Learning Center.
- A
suggestion was to rename the Learning Center to Academic Resource Center
to be more inclusive of its purpose and service.
- It was
mentioned that the Learning Center would be a cost benefit structure in
higher retention.
- Combine
two areas into a Leaning and Technology Center.
- One
question raised: In moving in a
direction for one area would that mean another area would be given up.
- Currently
Wells is at bare bones in what it does here on campus but Well needs to be
at least up to the base line.
- Teaching
tools – we do a great job with technology we have. Resources are needed to bring the
college to a new level.
- Wells
does a good job with what it currently has but the need is to improve to a
different level, to be better in what Wells has to offer.
- Was
the Board ready to go forward with the capital campaign?
