You can copy  a column of Positive numbers from here (or any text file) and paste it into the data editor in SPSS (put the cursor on the first cell, in Data View, do Edit>Paste) .  The numbers should  go correctly into a column of cells.  (Don't copy the header info; name the variable(s) yourself  in Variable View).  Negative numbers and Text will not copy into a Numeric variable--will just appear as missing data.
