Current Officers 2008-2009 & Their Biographies

Nicole Fambo

Co-President

Major in Public Affairs major with a concentration in Ethics and Philosophy. P.O.W.E.R. means the world to me! It is a club where people of different cultures can come together and learn about one another. P.O.W.E.R. has been the top club on campus for years now because it shows the campus how important it is to have and celebrate multiculturalism. This is my second year as Co-President and it will be hard for me to leave one of the clubs that I have been dedicated to and has been dedicated to me to. P.O.W.E.R. is my home and it will forever be in my heart.

Dora-Lisa St. John

Co-President

Dora-Lisah St. John '09 (commonly known as Lisah A. San Jose) hails from the beautiful and exotic Virgin Islands, by way of several other Caribbean islands including the British Virgin Islands, Dominica and the Dominican Republic. As many of her friends may already know, she has a great appreciation for all cultures, people and places. Despite the fact that she's a thesising senior, Lisah is very involved on campus as she is also the co-president of “W.I.S.A,” co-director of the a capella gospel choir, “Appointed,” member of the Students of Color Mentoring Program, “U.P.L.I.F.T.,” and a Resident Advisor. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, singing, meeting new people and spending quality time with her loved ones. After Wells, with a degree in Sociology, she plans to enter the field of community development, working closely with and for low income families. She would like to thank P.O.W.E.R. for providing her with 4 years of amazing experiences. It has given her the opportunity to discuss and explore the issues of diversity that personally affects her and her peers. It has given her the opportunity to learn and think about diversity "outside the box". But most of all, P.O.W.E.R has provided her with a voice, one that can never be silenced. Thank You.
