Student Voice Mail

This page has been designed to assist students with setting up and using voicemail.

If you have a roommate, please inform them that you are ordering voicemail. Setup will be done on the Room's phone line and therefore will affect the room. I will work only with the individuals that have voiceboxes for the room recording that callers will hear. Maybe your roommate wants a voicebox?

  • There is a one-time $50 setup fee for your entire time at Wells for individual voicemail boxes. This service will allow the voicebox to move with you.
  • Or you can choose to pay $25 per year.
Either option can be divided into 3 monthly payments, if ordered early in the semester.

Please contact Joseph Dyson to request your individual voicebox that can follow you to other rooms. Allow 1-2 business days to setup the voicebox.

You can also purchase a phone with a light for $40 to indicate when there is a message if you desire to have a visual notification.

*Warning* - There could be some problems with this feature with multiple voiceboxes.

Multiple voicemail boxes can be setup on any room. The setup charge will appear on the phone bill for those that request this service.

You will be assigned a four digit voicemail box number, from now on referred to as Voicebox. This Voicebox may be accessed from anywhere.

Cancelling your voicebox can be done at anytime. However your responsibility will include the setup fee and checking for messages until the voicebox is deleted. Upon cancelling, the voicebox will be disconnected from the room and then deleted one week after your request.

Access - - Info inside brackets { } correlates to what to press on the number pad.

The trick is getting to your Voicebox. Dial 3278 when on campus. From off campus the phone number is (315) 364 3278. There are couple scenarios that you will encounter:

  • You hear the Wells General Info Greeting - Simply press {#} then enter your {Voicebox}.
  • You hear Enter your Password - You need to press {0 #} then enter your {Voicebox}.

New mailboxes will hear the CallEducator instructions to change password and *record greetings* (these greetings should be ignored, you will have to call Joe at 3217 and coordinate a time to record the room greeting to direct the caller to the correct voicebox(es)).

Each time you log in to your Voicebox, the System tells you the number of new and saved messages that you have. Immediately after voicing the number of messages in your Voicebox, the System voices the Main menu options.

Review messages {1}.

Then press {1} to listen to New messages
or {2} to listen to Archived messages.
