Assignment for Tuesday, March 8

Familiarize yourself with the goals and content of Kapitel 9 (p. 300); leaf through the chapter to get an overview of what we will be doing. Review anything that seemed difficult in Kapitel 8 or on the Kapitel 8 exam. If you haven't finished all the assigned Quia exercises for Kapitel 8, use this as an opportunity to finish them.


Assignment for Wednesday, March 9

p. 301 and Companion Website: Audio Resources: listen repeatedly to "Im Gasthaus" and practice saying it.

pp. 306-7: Study how relative clauses are created, including how the gender and case of relative pronouns are determined.  Finish (orally) 9-9 if we didn't do them all in class; review them again if we did.

p. 304: Wortschatz 1: Nomen:  Learn Gasthaus to Trinkgeld, Besteck to Serviette, Bratten to Teig..

Activism Symposium. We'll discuss the Symposium on Monday, so be prepared to talk about several of the sessions you attended.

Quia: Arbeitsbuch and Hören und Sprechen: Use this opportunity to catch up on homework from the last two chapters that you have not done. This is really valuable time; use it well!

p. 301 and Companion Website: Audio Resources: listen again "Im Gasthaus" and "Im Supermarkt" and practice saying the dialogues like the speakers.

Drama: Get together with a partner and write (collectively) a briefdialog using some of the vocabulary from Wortschatz 1 that you can perform in class. For example, one person could be a Kellner and the other the person wishing to order a meal. Or anything else.... Short and simple is fine!

p. 311 and Companion Website: Audio Resources: listen to "Wandern macht hungrig" and write 9-16.

p. 304: Wortschatz 1: Nomen:  Learn Einkaufsliste to Topf, Austauschschüler to Platz. Use the illustrations as you are learning the words.
