Minutes of the Academic Program Policy Committee

February 29, 2008

Present: Faculty members E. Olson (Chair), K. Klitgaard, A. Siamundele, D. Gagnon, J. Goddard; student members R. Laury (’09), N. Bates (WILL); Registrar K. Leybold-Taylor; Associate Dean C. Speaker; Dean L. Miller-Bernal; Associate Library Director M. Godbout

The meeting was called to order 8:37 am

1. Announcements

-Kenneth Miller, Finding Darwin’s God, will be the guest at Science Colloquium, February 29, 2008, 12:40 pm in Stratton Lecture Hall. He will also give another talk at 4:30 pm in the lecture hall as well.

-Russell Posegate, a pianist, will be in Phipps Auditorium, February 29, 2008 at 7:30 pm.

- Course Evaluation sub committee will send out an announcement to the faculty sometime next week. They will bring the motion to accept the new evaluation forms on the floor for the March 11 faculty meeting.

2. Approval of Minutes of February 22, 2008

-Change Klitgaard’s title to statistician pro tem.

-The date for next meeting was changed from March 7 to February 29.

3. Middle States

Decided to complete the self study survey by splitting up the questions based on who is qualified to answer the question fully. The questions should be answered as an APPC member.

The questions will be answered by:

Another meeting may have to be scheduled to get through the questions because we are having curriculum coming up next week and the deadline for middle states is March 14, 2008.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:30.
