Minutes 3/2/04

Tonight's agenda was:

Urgent Action - Symposium

We will not be tabling the Urgent Action this week after all. Heather has yet to make copies of the letters. Instead, we're going to try and include the urgent action in an envelope in the tote bags for the Symposium. If we are not allowed to do this we'll simply give them out at the tables.

Poster -

The poster for our speaker is coming along, but Heather is looking into getting a better picture for it.

Call from iAbolish -

These are the people who we're coordinating with to bring the speaker to campus. After hearing our plans for the day they say it "sounds great."

Money Situation -

We currently have $1850 to spend. The speaker is going to cost $1000. So, that's $850 to spend on the day of the event. $400 is a conservative estimate for the cost of the dinner. The alumnae house is costing $20 for the two nights he'll be staying. Dean Green is paying for the reception. As for the books, the book store isn't ordering nearly as many as we'd like, so Heather is looking into getting more books through the Waldenbooks in Auburn.

Stuff Bags - Registration Table

Next week we'll be helping the Symposium by stuffing tote bags with bottles of water, schedules, and such. More information on that will be coming. We needed 3 volunteers to work the registration tables on Friday. Heather, Emily, and myself will be doing that.

Picture for Yearbook -

This was going to be taken at tonight's meeting but we didn't have most of our members there to be in the photo. So, next week, Tuesday, pictures! Be there!

That is all...enjoy the rest of the week and the nice weather while we have it.
