Admissions and Financial Aid Committee Meeting
Present: C. Bellomo, K. Edgin, K. Green, T. Lumumba-Kasongo, D. Reis, N. Pellegrino, L. Miller-Bernal, S. Sloan,
Reis called the meeting to order. The minutes from 4/23 were approved.
The committee looked over the revised slides for the Admissions section of the powerpoint presentation.
The committee looked at the new section of Student Life. Minor changes to the presentation will be made.
The committee talked about the presentation to the faculty. One question that was addressed is how the presentation will be concluded. Miller-Bernal suggested that we find out where the faculty wants the committee to go from here. This will be revisited in the fall.
One thing that was pointed out was that if a survey were to be done again, suggestions should be made and things will be changed to make the survey more effective.
The committee talked about surveys and the several examples of surveys.
Wells needs to improve its institutional assessment tools. This was also discussed within the committee and a means for the analysis of the surveys given.
Another suggestion was to make a presentation to the student body in regards to the marketing techniques used by the college. This could be used to eliminate the misconceptions that exist. The committee do carry this out would be the Enrollment Management Team.
