Admissions and Financial Aid Committee
Meeting Minutes
Present: C. Bellomo, K. Edgin, K. Green, T. Lumumba-Kasongo, L. Miller-Bernal, N. Pelligrino, D. Reis, S. Sloan.
The meeting began with D. Reis having a question about what the committee had agreed upon concerning themes for question 21 of the Student Life section. It was decided that we hadn’t although some members had coded this question utilizing the agreed upon themes for question 20. The minutes were then approved.
Members of the committee provided their responses to D. Reis for question 27 of the academic life section. Due to the wide range of responses, it was decided after a lively discussion ensued to add two additional categories: no. 7 – had to choose and no. 8 – waited. It was further decided that everyone would re-code question 27 with particular focus on numbers 1, 2 , 7 and 8.
Members of the committee provided their responses to D. Reis for question 20 of the student life section. Since there was an additional amount of discussion time devoted to the responses to question 1 – intolerance (homophobia, hate speech) and question 5 – disrespect, D. Reis suggested combining them. Everyone will re-code question 20 as well.
Committee members were encouraged to send their tallies to D. Reis by e-mail and that would determine whether or not the need to meet next week, March 18th.
