In class I went through the .
Multivariate ...Continuous handout:
the handout's example, focusing especially on
the E(Y|x). It seemed that rewriting as E(Y|xo) with the
o-subscript on the value "given" helped in perceiving x as a parameter
(fixed for the moment) as opposed to the "moving" variable y.
Then I did
f(x,y) = 2e-x-y
finding E(X|y), harder and messier than the homework
E(Y|x), but covering the same issues.
No new HW, finish the HW from day 38, and the
Mini exam due Monday.
