Math 300 , Spring 2004, Day39, F, May 7Hit reload ...After class

Continuing with Two random variables X, Y "jointly distributed".  Now Ash 8.1

In class I went through the .
Multivariate ...Continuous handout:
the handout's example, focusing especially on the E(Y|x).  It seemed that rewriting as E(Y|xo) with the o-subscript on the value "given" helped in perceiving x as a parameter (fixed for the moment) as opposed to the "moving" variable y.

Then I did  f(x,y) = 2e-x-y
finding E(X|y), harder and messier than the homework E(Y|x), but covering the same issues.

No new HW, finish the HW from day 38, and the Mini exam due Monday.
