Questions on Confidence Intervals?
Significance tests use an elaborate vocabulary, but the basic idea
is simple: an outcome that would "rarely" happen if a claim were true--is
good evidence that the claim is NOT true. Summary notes Day
30
Read Tests of Significance (sec. 6.2). If the rest is solid,
read pp. 463-466 "two-sided tests and confidence intervals"
Next: 6.3. We will either omit or postpone 6.4; I am anxious
to get through chapter 7.
