filter_$ variable label and change it to sample1 (for instance). 
Then your next sample will be filter_$  again.... 
You can find descriptives (mean, s.d.) of those chosen and not chosen 
following the Working with Subgroups handout.  Most efficient is 
Analyze, compare means. Use the filter variable as the independent, 
the variable you want means for as the dependent. 
Be sure to pick the desired statistics..
