Converting webpages for your own use:  Fall 2002

I'm setting up the class daily webpages so if you just want to print the homework assignment, print only page 1.  Print the whole thing if you want the notes.

To put your name on a page before printing:
In your browser, do File>Edit page  (If you're using MSExplorer on a Wells machine, it'll go into the Netscape editor)
You'll be in Netscape Composer: sort of like a word processor, only it creates HTML code--what Net browsers read.
You can delete (e.g.the bottom boilerplate), add your name to top/bottom, without knowing much.
You can save the changed version, or abandon it after printing.

To save the webpage from the web to your disk:
In your browser, do File>Save as.  To see it later, go to the file icon in a directory, click on it.  If you want to edit it, you can click the icon with the right mouse button, and choose Edit from the resulting menu.
(The editor is called Netscape Composer, and can be loaded directly from the programs menu)
