-
Files for workbook/HW: in Class Materials\CS102, on every machine
in 101.
-
Copy just the file(s) you need to your disk. (You don't need to make a
Student Disk with lots of unneeded files.)
-
Please DON'T work in the Class Materials folder. If you didn't bring
a floppy, copy the file to the Student folder on the desktop, work there.
In general, save under a new name (E.g. start with Inwood, save as Inwood
2) so the original unmodified file still exists.T
Excel: Spreadsheet (originally, grid paper for writing accounting.)
Now, file is Workbook of related worksheets.
-
Work through tutorial 1, sessions 1&2.
-
Assignment 1 due Day 3, Tuesday Oct

-
Pointer in Excel changes shape depending on the job: many
different options, so pay attention to shape.
-
Session 2: Text, values, formulas, functions. These
are the foundation building blocks.
-
Formulas and functions are a lot like algebra, only instead of x
