Chair Staples called meeting to order at 12:35.

   The minutes of the September 27, 2004 meeting were approved.
   The chair introduced and welcomed the new student sophomore representative,Yasmine Jaber.
    Course proposals for the Arts Division were discussed, including new courses.  Course proposals were approved.
    Music 350 Form and Analysis will be offered in the spring.  Music 285 to be added also, Topics in Theatre or Dance of Music.  These courses were approved.
   Course proposals for Social Sciences were discussed, including the following:  Psychology 265, 360, 330, and WS385.  Leybold-Taylor also presented changes in the Public Affairs, Ethics, Politics and Social Policy Major. Course proposals
for the Social Sciences with the changes and additions presented by Leybold-Taylor were approved.
    There was a discussion of the agenda for the Fall 2004 semester and it was decided to change Dean Hall’s presentation concerning position requests to November 22, 2004.
    Dean Denard stated that she anticipated sending her presentation via email this Friday.
    Discussed the request by Professor Greenwood concerning midterm grades and the disruption of classes due to the co-ed issue.  The matter was tabled to October 25, 2004 for further discussion.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:40PM.
