Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid
End of Year Report to the Faculty
May 13, 2003

The Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid met six times this semester and a total of thirteen times during this academic year. AFA also held one open meeting last fall. This semester, in addition to considering several special cases of admission, the committee focused on two larger tasks. The first was revising the committee charge to reflect changes in the Henry Wells Scholarship Program, the addition of the Dean of Experiential Learning, and the creation of the Enrollment Management Team (EMT). The revised charge will be introduced as a Notice of Motion to be voted on at the September Faculty meeting. The second project was the design, development, and carrying out of a student survey to gauge student perceptions of and experiences with the admissions process, academic program, student life, and issues regarding financial aid. The complete survey is posted on the AFA webpage. Meghan McCune will present the findings from the academics section of the survey today. The full analysis of the student survey will begin this summer through EMT, to be continued in the fall by AFA.

Respectfully,
