McCune provided an update for the group regarding the student survey.  She tested the survey with five randomly selected students; three students returned their completed surveys to her.   She noted that the survey takes some time to complete in its entirety.

McCune will begin to hand them out to students in the Dining Hall beginning Tuesday, April 15.  She will request that they be returned to her by Friday, April 18.  McCune will keep track of the students participating in the survey with a check-off sheet accounting for those who have picked up the survey.  She is announcing the project at Collegiate on Monday, April 14 as well as sending an email out to the student population.  The group agreed that Hall should also announce it to the faculty at the faculty meeting on Tuesday, April 8.

The goal is to begin an assessment of responses as soon as possible so that a preliminary report of the survey results may be made to the faculty at their May meeting.   AFA also considered providing the information at a meeting other than the regular faculty meeting.

McCune will make some final additions and changes to the survey in preparation for distribution next week.

The timeline for reporting back to the committee and community with results from the survey are:

May 6 ­ Meghan presents preliminary findings to AFA Committee

May 13 ­ Meghan presents preliminary findings to the faculty at a faculty meeting

The committee agreed to finalize the AFA charge at their next meeting.  The revised charge will go before the full faculty next fall for vote.

The next meeting will take place on April 22.
